As energy savings have become increasingly critical for the commercial refrigeration and ice machine industries, EC Fans & Drives commercial refrigeration electronically commutated (EC) products provide outstanding reliability and improved power efficiency compared to traditional shaded pole and PSC motors and comply with latest legislation to use ATEX approved “spark free” motors in hydrocarbon refrigerated systems.

An EC motor (electronically commutated) is a brushless, direct current, external rotor type of motor. In commutation electronics, an AC voltage is changed into a direct voltage by a commutator.

These EC motors that drive these agitator motor have been designed and tested to IP65 with resistance to salt-fog to satisfy even the most demanding operational needs. This is important as many of the applications in which these motors are used in are such that the motor is constantly wet, possibly submersed (not intentionally), and covered with ice.

The traditional shaded pole and PSC technology is only expected to last for 1 year under these circumstances whereas the EC Fans & Drives products can last 5 years and beyond.

• Agitator motors are available with power output ratings from 1 to 25 watts
• All shafts are stainless steel, and the motor is enclosed in a double-insulated plastic housing that enhances moisture protection
• 120 & 230V models available
• Can be programmed from 500 RPM to 3200 RPM
• Shaft length and propeller can be customized per customer based upon volume requirement
